Shack has a new Member of the Family

The Shack has a new addition to the family. For some time I have been torn between manual tuner and and auto ATU. Whilst both my yagi and my comet H422 multiband dipole are resonant, the bandwidth is relatively narrow and an auto ATU would solve my problems of having to retune when quickly changing frequencies during search and pounce when contesting.

After much dealing on ebay and clearing out the shack of "stuff" I purchased the LDG 1000 Pro with the v2 software. Really pleased with the unit and as long as the instructions and precautions are taken as specified in the manual I'm sure it will perform flawlessly for many years to come.

Tuning is rapid (but noisy) however the noise is overcome by tuning each band and letting the tuner go through its long tune cycle (do this during the day when there is no-one home :-) ) after that the unit memorises the settings and upon return to that frequency, the ATU tunes in less than half a second.

Happy days !
